Media Release
Emergency Parts Logistics Inc. Announces a New Joint Venture with Wahgoshig First Nation
OTTAWA November 13, 2015

Canada’s mining sector depends on uninterrupted machinery operation. When critical parts fail, Emergency Parts Logistics (EPL), headquartered in Ottawa, is often called upon to get replacements on site as fast as humanly possible.

Many mines are located on First Nations lands. EPL and the Wahgoshig First Nation, headquartered in Matheson, Ontario, about 70 kms east of Timmins, have signed a historic Joint Venture Agreement to collaborate on the servicing of the mining sector in Wahgoshig territory.

The Joint Venture Agreement is in line with many Impact Benefit Agreements (IBA) frequently used for the benefit of First Nations business enterprises.

Wayne Galley, EPL President, said, “We are delighted to have signed this agreement with Wahgoshig Resources Limited Partnership, which will allow us to become a preferred service provider for mines in its territory.”

George Sackaney, Wahgoshig Resources Inc. (WRI) President said, “We are excited to partner with EPL to provide training and employment for our people, and to oversee the provision of cross cultural training to EPL resources.”

Sharon Plourde, IBA Coordinator for WRI said, “We have set up a Joint Executive Committee to achieve our common objectives such as safety, elimination of ineffective practices, and adoption of innovative procedures.”

The partners expect that this landmark Joint Venture will become the model for numerous other agreements in the near future.

EPL was established in October of 2009, specializing in the transportation of time critical shipments 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Since then, we have expanded across Canada and into the USA.
